Cookie Policy
What cookies are, which ones we use on itblacksmiths.com, why we use them and how you can control them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They are used to make a site work properly, to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use the shop. Similar technologies with the same purpose include local storage, session storage and pixels. In this policy we refer to all of them as cookies.
2. Your consent
When you first visit the shop we show you a consent banner with three options: accept everything, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose the categories yourself. Until you make a choice, no advertising or analytics cookie is set and no request is sent to any advertising or analytics provider — the shop still works completely, the banner simply stays until you decide.
Changing your mind
Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie for 180 days. You can withdraw or change it at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, or from the Cookie Policy page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and no penalty of any kind follows from it.
3. Which cookies we use
| Категорія | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Without them the shop cannot work: they keep your cart, your session and your login state, protect forms against spam, remember your consent choice and remember your language and currency. These are always active. | WooCommerce cart and session cookies (e.g. woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart), WordPress login cookies (wordpress_logged_in_*), security and anti-spam tokens, itb_consent |
| Analytics | They help us understand how the shop is used so we can improve it, for example which pages are popular and where visitors drop out. Only active with your consent. | Aggregated traffic statistics, page view and referrer counters, payment provider insight scripts |
| Marketing and advertising | They allow us and our advertising partners to show you product campaigns that are more relevant to you, and to measure whether a campaign brought you to the shop. Only active with your consent. | Google Ads, Reddit, Snapchat, TikTok and Pinterest conversion pixels |
Cookies set by our payment provider are used solely to process your payment and are handled under a separate agreement with the provider; we never receive your full card number.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies come from third-party services that are integrated into the shop, in particular advertising and social media platforms. When you follow a link to one of these services, that provider may set its own cookies and process your data according to its own privacy policy. You can find the full list of integrated services and the data they receive in our Privacy Policy.
5. How long we keep cookies
Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser. Functional and marketing cookies are usually kept for a period of a few weeks to a few months, and are then renewed or removed automatically. Your consent choice is kept for 180 days, after which we ask you again.
6. How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Every major browser lets you view the cookies stored for a site, remove them and block them — either completely or only for specific services. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will make the cart and the checkout stop working.
You can also use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to change which categories we are allowed to use. Cookies you have blocked in the browser are never set by us, regardless of the choice you made in the banner.
Modern browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal. We respect the signals that are legally binding in your jurisdiction, and we will limit advertising measurement accordingly.
7. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever the set of cookies or the services we use changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
